PERSONAL STATEMENT: I’ve had various jobs during my long and varied career such as TA Soldier, disconnecting water supplies, debt recovery, legal practice management, Barristers Clerk, reluctant civil servant, Private Secretary, policy development, politics. I have worked in local authorities, for the Welsh Government and now on the other side, holding that government to account for an opposition Assembly Member. I know how it works but I also bring a perspective that encompasses value for money, efficiency and review as well as that of the customer – I am a receiver of services and I can bring that perspective also.
I love live music and comedy, the last act I saw was Rick Astley three weeks ago and we are booked in to see Billy Ocean in July. The last comedian I saw was Jim Davidson at the Neon, but we have also seen Shappi Khorsandi, Lee Mack, Dave Gorman and Mark Watson. I exercise as regularly as I can and particularly enjoy body combat and jogging. My family lives in Cardiff so I am back there regularly but I have a whole new family of friends in Newport. Newport is home.

I’ve volunteered in my community for Maindee Unlimited and I am a trustee of that Charity (taking a break at the moment while we care for my mother in law who has Altsheimers), also was the Lead Ambassador for the opening of Friars Walk where I wore the green sash of pride and organised the team of excellent volunteers who helped out on the opening couple of weekends.
I am the wrong side of 40, married to Tim. We don’t have kids, but do have some nieces and nephews and three spoilt cats and two strays. I have a shoe fetish – I’ve got hundreds. I met my husband on a blind date in the Dodger!
